It was not the charity that thought there should be a clinic for mums-to-be. It was only in consultation with local people that the need for some kind of ante-natal aid was decided upon.
This was to be the first project where Health Care for Africa would be totally involved from the ground breaking to the finished clinic.
You can see above that the expression 'ground breaking' was at its most literal. However after much toil and some sleepless nights the results were worth the work.

As many as 80 mothers-to-be visit the clinic on a busy day in an area where otherwise the medical help, assistance and sometimes reassurance would be minimal.
